Who we are:

The City of Salisbury’s Field Services Department is dedicated to maintaining Council’s essential infrastructure, ensuring that public spaces and assets remain safe, functional, and inviting. This comprehensive service includes the maintenance of buildings, workshops, fleet, and stores; civil infrastructure such as drainage, footpaths, and waste management; and the care of parks, landscapes, and open spaces. Specialised teams handle everything from arboriculture and turf management to pest control and security, while also responding to emergencies and maintaining contracts for features like reserve maintenance and cemetery services. Field Services plays a crucial role in supporting a vibrant and sustainable community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general parks & landscape maintenance including turf maintenance, weed control, litter removal, tree planting, pruning, and watering
  • Operating ride on mowers and other hand tools
  • Keep all equipment in safe, clean, and functional condition per operating practices.
  • Document daily work tasks, materials, time sheets, and job variations to ensure up-to-date accountability
  • Setting up signage as required, following the Work Zone Traffic Management Australian Standards
  • Assisting other departments as required
  • Some after hours work may be required
 

Essential Criteria:

  • Current and valid SA Drivers License
  • Proven ability in parks and landscape maintenance
