  • Ongoing, Full-time position
  • LGE Grade 3 - $69,593 to $71,065 per annum + super
  • 9 day fortnight (RDO)

The role:

This position undertakes duties ranging in the support of Council's general parks and landscape maintenance, turf maintenance, pump control systems and irrigation operations.

There will be a heightened attention to the programming and troubleshooting of the Irrigation Management and Monitoring Software (IMMS).

The duties vary from park maintenance of designated sites including,

  • The maintenance, repairs and installation of irrigation systems and associated components including but not limited to sprinkler and solenoid maintenance, pipework repairs, irrigation scheduling, irrigation controller operation, irrigation auditing.
  • A passion for turf health, including but not limited to disease and weed identification and control, grass cutting, turf mowing and other park and landscape maintenance duties.

All tasks will be undertaken with the efficient, safe and effective operation of plant and equipment used in association with those duties.

The duties involved in this role may be varied to meet seasonal demands.

Specialist Skills, Required Knowledge and Conditions:

  • Certificate III or equivalent in Horticulture, Turf or Irrigation.
  • A current SA driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in computer and Microsoft software packages
  • Ability to schedule and prioritise work using Council systems.
  • Experience in turf maintenance practices and cricket wicket curation
  • Understanding of Australian standards regarding Non Drinking (Recycled Water) Standards.
  • Ability to program day to day work schedules

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate high levels of motivation and enthusiasm, a strong commitment to safe work practices, be a team player and have good problem-solving abilities. Experience with pump systems and IMMS will also be highly regarded.
