Independent Members on the Salisbury Council Assessment Panel

The City of Salisbury is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of the public who would like to be part of the Salisbury Council Assessment Panel (CAP).  The role of CAP is to make decisions on Development Applications under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.

The CAP consists of five members, comprising of four (4) independent members and one (1) Elected Member appointed by Council.

Expressions of Interest are sought for the three (3) independent members. Council is seeking to increase the participation women on the Panel.

Successful candidates will show a keen interest in urban planning and demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of the relevant legislation. As a guide, it is anticipated that the independent professional members would come from the fields of urban planning, architecture, landscaping, building/construction, surveying, engineering, environmental planning or similar.

Applicants are required to hold an Accreditation Class of Planning Level 2 under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.

Remuneration per meeting is $450 for the Independent Members. Council also provides a financial contribution towards training to meet accreditation requirements.

The candidates will be selected by Council and should be available to commence in September 2024.
