The role:

The Open Space Technical Lead plays a specialist role in leading the planning, development and implementation of Council's strategy for recreational spaces, pathway network and open spaces ensuring that we build community and environmental resilience in the spaces we create.

The position leads technical teams and manages the technical aspects of recreational spaces and pathways to deliver on Council's Open Space and Urban Streetscape Strategy.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement Council's Asset Management Plans for Open Space and Urban Streetscape
  • Strategy development
  • Lead the development of open space master plans
  • Provide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Specialist Skills and Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in strategic planning and imbedding plans into business as usual
  • Significant experience leading multidisciplinary project teams in the delivery of complex projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in either Civil Engineering, Resource Management and / or Landscape Design/Architecture or equivalent experience
  • Excellent report writing skills.
