What We Do:

The City of Salisbury is a pioneer in local government innovation. Our Strategic Development Projects division is at the forefront of transforming surplus Council land into innovative residential development projects. These projects not only enhance the Salisbury community but also boost our financial capacity to support essential community programs, all while fostering economic growth and job creation in Northern Adelaide.

Your Role:

As our Project Planner, you will be at the heart of creating visionary living spaces for the Salisbury community. Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and evaluating planning opportunities and constraints in land development proposals.
  • Crafting masterplans and concept plans for residential and commercial land development projects.
  • Producing compelling visual and written materials for effective communication.
  • Coordinating and managing the strategic land review project assessment to keep our future projects current.
  • Overseeing project encumbrance development, review, and compliance.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest land development and housing trends to inform our projects.
  • Designing and managing community engagement and communication strategies and activities.

What We're Looking For:

We seek candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Expertise in land development, urban design, urban planning, and stakeholder management and communication.
  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in urban and regional planning, urban design, landscape architecture, property development, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and practices.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret demographic data and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for building strong professional relationships.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Your Reward:

Join us in a progressive, sustainable, and inclusive community that values diversity. Enhance your work-life balance with “flex” work hours (you choose your work hours based on the agreement with your manager) and a work-from-home-day once per week!  At the City of Salisbury, we celebrate your unique abilities and encourage you to grow and thrive. Our values (ReACH) represent Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Helpfulness.

Apply Today:

We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, including those of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity and individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. If you have diverse abilities and are passionate about urban design and planning, we want to hear from you.
