The role: 

This exciting role will have an opportunity to have a significant impact across our city. Contributing to a high performing team, this position will deliver events, displays and space activations in new and existing public spaces. Reporting directly to the Team Leader Events, Place Activation and Curation within the Community Development Unit, you will be part of a strengths-based community development approach and contribute to cultural development via a wide variety of events and activities that will build capability and add value to our community - and contribute to City Pride.

Specialised Skills & Knowledge: 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Outstanding skills in building relationships and partnerships with key government and private sector stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of strengths based community and cultural development
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience as an Event Coordinator
  • Awareness of new and emerging trends in space activations and community events
  • Experience working with or in partnership with Local Government
  • Sound understanding of the State and Federal funding landscape
  • Have some technical background in using AV and websites.
